Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer programs to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person fee, and activities will take place at the Environmental Center in Lancaster County Central Park, 1 Nature's Way, Lancaster. Owls and Owl Pellets will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, and again on Monday, Nov. 29. After learning about the life cycle and features of an owl, participants will dissect owl pellets. The program is open to people of all ages. Preregistration for the Nov. 20 program is due by Friday, Nov. 19, and preregistration for the Nov. 29 program is due by Wednesday, Nov. 24

A Chickies Rock History Tour will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Chickies Rock County Park, 29 Furnace Road, Marietta. The event will provide a tour of the industrial and geologic history within the Chickies Historic District and a visit to the Musselman-Vesta Furnace Center. Participants should dress for the weather and plan to walk about 1.5 miles.

Munchkin Science: Native American Games, open to children ages 3 to 5, will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Children will learn some of the skills Native Americans had to master as part of their everyday life.

An Owl Prowl will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 24. Attendees will become familiar with owls' nesting habits, special features, and sounds and then go outside to attract owls that live in Central Park.

Creative Pinecone Crafting, for people of all ages, has been set for Sunday, Nov. 28, from 1 to 2 p.m. Using provided pinecones and supplies, participants will craft pinecones into seasonal decorations. Registration and prepayment are required by noon on Nov. 24.
