Pandolfi to perform concert

Acclaimed concert pianist Thomas Pandolfi will mark his fourth Hershey appearance by performing at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, in the sanctuary at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road, Hershey.  

The concert is part of the church's 2024 Arts Alive Cultural Series. A freewill offering will be received. Handicapped-accessible parking and an elevator are available. 

Pandolfi will play works by Chopin, including "Revolutionary" Etude and Polonaise in A Major, Op 40, No. 1; Debussy's "Clair de Lune"; and Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue."

During the 2023-24 season, Pandolfi served as guest soloist with The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest, Symphonicity, the Florence Symphony, Londontowne Symphony, Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, Monticello Chamber Orchestra, Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra. During the 2022-23 season, he was guest soloist with The Manassas Symphony, Western Piedmont Symphony, The Altoona Symphony, The Piedmont Symphony, The Chesapeake Orchestra, and The National Symphony Orchestra of London.

Pandolfi's recital touring schedule during the 2023-24 season took him to various states, including Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Illinois, and Missouri, as well as the District of Columbia. His international concerts have carried him to China and Europe; he returned to China this summer for master classes and concerts.

Pandolfi has just been appointed as Dean of Piano Department and Professor of Piano at Midwest University. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Pandolfi earned his bachelor's and master's degrees as a scholarship student.

The 2024 Arts Alive Cultural Series will continue on Sunday, Nov. 3, when Tracy Dietrich and Cindy Wittenberg of Silver, Wood & Ivory return for their third Derry Church concert.
