Pack 148 Posts Pinewood Derby Results

Pack 148 of New Holland held its annual Pinewood Derby on Jan. 29, although the event's start time was delayed due to snowy conditions. Attendees enjoyed a late brunch provided by den leader Nate Martin, along with goodies contributed by the Scouts' families.

Scouts were able to watch the car races in person or online. First place went to Carter Richardson, Webelos II, with his futuristic car. Carter will graduate from Cub Scouts this year and will join a local Boy Scouts of America troop.

Finishing second was a Nintendo Switch-themed car created by Castiel Valotta, a Webelos I Scout. In third place was a "Marvelous Spider-Man" themed car designed by Mitchell Brown. Mitchell is one of Pack 148's newest members, having joined as a Lion Scout.

John Goshert Jr., a Bear Scout, won Best of Show for his cheese wedge-shaped car, which included a toy mouse that squeaked as the car traveled down the race track.
