Orchestra plans "An American Salute" concert

The Hershey Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Independence Day with its 21st annual concert on the lawn of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey. "An American Salute" will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28. There is no rain date for the concert.

"We are excited to kick off the Fourth of July holiday with our annual concert on the lawn of Milton S. Hershey Medical Center," said Hershey Symphony Orchestra executive director Susan Cort. "We are proud to be a part of this central PA summer tradition and look forward to sharing our music at this free concert."

Greg Woodbridge, Hershey Symphony music director, said, "The concert will include music from Broadway, the movies, and, of course, beloved patriotic selections. We are excited to once again offer this concert to the community."

The concert is sponsored by Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Hershey Symphony Orchestra with support from the Hershey Lodge, Filson Water, Sutliff Chevrolet, and PepsiCo.

A freewill offering will be received to benefit the orchestra. Parking is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Attendees may bring pets on leashes. Fireworks are not permitted at the event.

Complimentary water will be provided, and drinks and food will be available for purchase from food trucks. Guests may also bring their own food and drinks.
