Octorara Celebrates Homecoming

Sidnie Althouse and Owen Hoffman were crowned queen and king, respectively, as part of homecoming festivities held at Octorara Junior-Senior High School.

The king and queen were crowned during halftime on Oct. 1 at the Octorara Braves football game versus Columbia High School. Prior to the game, the 27th annual homecoming parade was held on the school grounds. The annual homecoming dance concluded the celebration on Oct. 2.

In addition to Sidnie, the homecoming queen candidates were Devon Carroll, Lily Gray, Grace Greig and Emma Milligan. Homecoming king candidates, in addition to Owen, included Kline Butler, Danny DaPrix, Marc DiGregorio and Coy Testerman.

Sidnie is the daughter of Eric and Christie Althouse of Cochranville. At school, she is a member of the soccer and track and field teams, and she is also involved in travel soccer. She is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), student advisory and Young Life and is class vice president. She attends Freedom Life Church. Sidnie plans to attend the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences to major in nursing.

Devon is the daughter of Paul and Taylor Carroll of Parkesburg. She is a member of the Octorara Heroes, NHS, Student Council, Spanish National Honor Society (SNHS), newspaper club and ski and snowboard club. She is varsity field hockey captain, a member of the track and field team and class president. She plans to earn a degree in biochemistry in order to become a physician assistant.

Lily is the daughter of Steve and Christine Gray of Atglen. She is a member of Octorara Heroes, Student Council, NHS and SNHS. She is captain of the field hockey team and serves as class secretary. She plans to attend college to study nursing.

Grace is the daughter of Doug and Kathy Greig of Christiana. She plans to attend college to study psychology.

Emma is the daughter of Jeff and Gretchen Milligan of Parkesburg. At school, she plays soccer and is a member of the Student Council, NHS and SNHS. She plans to attend college after graduation.

Owen is the son of Jason and Alysyn Hoffman of Parkesburg. He is a member of the ski and snowboard club. He plans to pursue a career in music production after high school.

Kline is the son of Rusty and Tina Butler of Atglen. Kline plans to continue his college education after graduation.

Danny, of Parkesburg, is the son of Dan DaPrix and Jane DaPrix. At school, he is a member of Octorara Heroes, the ski and snowboard club and the golf team. He plans to attend college to pursue a business or engineering degree.

Marc is the son of Marc and Marcia DiGregorio of Gap. He plays soccer, is a member of Student Council and is secretary for the NHS. He is also involved with the school newspaper and Octorara Heroes. He plans to attend college to study biomedical engineering.

Coy is the son of Coy Jr. and Dr. KC Testerman of Atglen. At school, he is a member of the golf team, NHS, the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, the Torch and Laurels Society, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Octorara Heroes. He also plays tennis. He plans to attend college, where he will major in pre-med with hopes of becoming a dentist or orthodontist.
