North Museum Sets STEM Girls Summit

Girls in grades one through 12 are invited to explore the world of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) at the inaugural STEM Girls Summit. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the North Museum of Nature and Science, 400 College Ave., Lancaster.

Girls will learn how their interests may be nurtured through Lancaster County organizations' STEM programs. In addition to enjoying hands-on activities with these organizations, girls will meet women in STEM professions and learn about their careers through all-day panels related to career exploration, mentorship, and more. Students may also explore museum exhibits related to women in STEM.

Advance registration is required, and the free event includes lunch for registered girls. Registration can be completed at https://northmuseum.org/stem-girls-summit/.

Businesses and organizations that offer STEM-related career opportunities and programs are invited to participate in the STEM Girls Summit as exhibitors, panelists, and mentors. For more information, email Katelyn Williams at stemsisters@northmuseum.org or visit the aforementioned website.

Founded in 1953, the North Museum reaches over 1 million households through its education initiatives in the museum, in the community, and at home. Programs include at-home learning activity packs, free field trips and after-school programs, an annual Science and Engineering Fair for middle and high school students, and many other educational programs designed to create access to free and reduced-cost STEM learning opportunities.
