The Manheim Township Board of Commissioners swore in Officer Nicholas Nachurski at the board's meeting on Jan. 23. With him to pin his badge were his 7-year-old daughter, Chloe, and his girlfriend, Megan.

Nachurski came to the Manheim Township Police Department from the Reading Police Academy. He graduated from the academy on Dec. 23, 2022, and started work on Jan. 1, 2023.

He has also been a professional drummer and worked as a security guard. He resides in Berks County.
