Mount Joy Rotary Honors Students Of The Month

The Donegal High School Counseling Office and Career Resource Center has announced that the Mount Joy Rotary Students of the Month for February are Chelsea Halterman and Thomas Delich. Students who receive the recognition are honored by members of the Mount Joy Rotary during the club's monthly luncheon meeting.

Chelsea is the daughter of Cindy Halterman and Nick Halterman of Marietta. She is a two-year member in National Honor Society, serving as treasurer this year. She has been involved with Student Council throughout high school, serving as treasurer in 11th grade and president in 12th grade. She also participated in Science Olympiad and Quiz Bowl as a junior. She was a Lenfest Scholarship Finalist in 11th grade and has been a Link Crew leader since her junior year. This year she is a teacher intern in the Science Department.

Outside school, Chelsea has been a baton twirler and dancer for 15 years with Paula's School of Baton, winning several national titles as an individual competitor and as a team member. She teaches young students baton, tap, and hip-hop.

Her plans after graduation include attending a four-year college to major in biomedical engineering.

Thomas is the son of Benjamin and Julie Delich of Marietta. He played football in ninth grade and was a member of the Booster Club from ninth to 11th grades. He has been involved in Debate Club throughout high school. He helped with Donegal News Network in 11th grade and participated in the talent show all four years of high school.

Outside school, Thomas takes guitar lessons and has recorded and produced music with TMI Records as well as a five-song EP for the band SUV. He has performed with the bands Tucker, I'm Scared, and SL.AP. He also organized Halloween Fest 2019.

After graduation, Thomas plans to attend Millersville University to major in music production and minor in psychology.
