Morley Named Award Finalist

Conestoga Valley (CV) High School senior Abigail Morley was named a Brackbill Award finalist at the virtual awards presentation on May 19. The Brackbill Award is presented to one female and one male within the greater community who are exceptional student-athletes. Athletes must compete in at least two varsity sports in their senior year and carry at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Schools can nominate two student-athletes for the award, named after the league's first executive director and former Penn Manor administrator. Both the award finalists and award winners receive monetary scholarships. The award is in its 33rd year.

Morley has committed to play lacrosse for William & Mary, where she intends to major in biology. Morley, in addition to being a member of CV's girls' lacrosse team, was also a four-year member of CV's field hockey team and has been named a Lancaster-Lebanon (L-L) League All-Star in both sports. Earlier this spring, she netted her 200th career goal for the girls' lacrosse team in only three seasons of play as the 2019 season was canceled due to COVID-19. In addition to her athletic successes, Morley is a four-year member of CV's distinguished honor roll as well as a member of the National and Science honor societies and served as the Student Council secretary.
