Mike O'Neill Memorial Ride set

The fourth annual Mike O'Neill Memorial Ride will take place on Saturday, May 4, at 1390 Sheep Hill Road, East Earl. Registration will open at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m., attendees may meet the families that will benefit from the ride, and giveaway drawings will take place. Kickstands will go up at noon.

O'Neill passed away at the age of 46, but during his time on Earth, he enjoyed serving others and giving back to his community. The memorial ride honors O'Neill's life and benefits local families in need of assistance.

This year, the ride will benefit the Mitch Hertzler family and the Jackson Sensenig family.

Hertzler, 44, has been fighting Stage 4 colon cancer since August 2021. He started hospice care in November. Mitch is married to his wife, Kat, and has three young sons. He is a coach and friend to many.

Jackson, 5, started his cancer journey in March 2023. Through many tests, he was finally diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma. He has had surgery to remove a mass on his adrenal gland, as well as chemotherapy and high-risk radiation. As of March 24, he was in an induced coma at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) after a seizure and brain bleed while receiving his second stem cell transplant. Jackson's parents are Christina and Joey, and he has two older sisters.

As part of the benefit ride, organizers are asking businesses and community members to donate an item for the giveaway drawing. Community members may also make a donation directly to help the families, and donations can be picked up by a committee member or dropped off at the ride location.

There is a fee per vehicle to participate in the ride. For more information, contact Carla O'NeillĀ at carlaoneill@comcast.net or 717-989-7444. Social media users may search for @mpo_memorialride on Instagram or visit http://www.facebook.com/mikeoneill.memorialride.
