Meals on Wheels receives donation

Meals on Wheels of Lancaster Inc., a nonprofit organization, was recently presented with a check for $28,000 from Lancaster County Motors Subaru.

Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and the A Week Away Foundation were the two local charities selected as donation recipients from the 2023 Subaru Share the Love event that took place in November and December. The check presentation was held at Lancaster County Motors Subaru, 1705 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, on May 21.

Jonathan Furukawa, general sales manager at Lancaster County Motors Subaru, presented the check to Meals on Wheels representatives Esther Angell, board president, and Feleen Nancarvis, executive director.

Meals on Wheels of Lancaster offers ready-to-eat meals to persons with physical or mental disabilities, the elderly living alone or those who have limitations during convalescence from illness or injury. Meals on Wheels of Lancaster has been serving the community since 1967. The meals are prepared in-house in a professional kitchen by paid staff and volunteers and delivered Mondays through Fridays, including holidays.
