Hannah Mcconnell of Hummelstown was one of four student-athletes from Kutztown University's field hockey program who were named Scholars of Distinction for 2023 by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The recognition was announced on Feb. 19. This is the first year Mcconnell received the honor.

This year, 121 student-athletes were recognized as NFHCA Division II Scholars of Distinction. The program applauds student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or greater during the first semester of the 2023-24 academic year.
