Master Gardener plant sales set

This spring, Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will offer plant sales and expert gardening advice in locations around the state. These sales support educational programs and feature plants chosen for local growing conditions.

Depending on the county, sales will include items such as native and pollinator-friendly plants, annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, shrubs, trees, houseplants, hanging baskets, gardening tools, books and apparel, and decorative garden items. Sales will take place in multiple counties. Additional sales may be added to the list in the coming weeks, so readers should check the aforementioned website for updates.

A sale will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 12, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, at Berks County Agricultural Center, 1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport.

In York County, a plant sale will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 13 at the pavilions at John C. Rudy County Park, 400 Mundis Race Road, York.

The Penn State Master Gardener volunteer program seeks to support the outreach mission of Penn State Extension by utilizing unbiased, research-based information to educate communities and the public on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship.
