Marietta Day Planned

Marietta Day will take place on Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. The free event will include a town-wide yard sale, arts and crafts, and food trucks.

Marietta Day started approximately 40 years ago as a town-wide yard sale. That tradition continues, and as usual, Market Street will be closed to vehicle traffic, providing a safe space for residents to sell their used items, attic treasures, and more. Specialty vendors will sell tools, T-shirts, toys, jewelry, country decor, designer bags and totes, antiques, woodcrafts, books, and beauty and skin care products.

At the Artisan's Corner, attendees will find custom hand-painted wooden signs, organic elderberry syrup made with local raw honey, crocheted items, handcrafted decor, gnomes, jewelry, scrap metal art sculptures, bath bombs, candles, and blanket ladders. These items will be offered by local craftspeople and artists.

Food trucks and stalls will be ready to serve fudge, soft pretzels, German nuts, whoopie pies, walking tacos, waffles, french fries, roast beef sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, bloomin' onions, crab cakes, pulled pork, and pizza.

Live music hosted by Marietta Center for the Arts will be on a stage outside the historic old theater. Local musicians, bands, and songwriters will entertain in a variety of genres.

Marietta Day is sponsored by the Marietta Area Business Association, which consists of merchants in and surrounding Marietta. The organization's mission is to sponsor projects and programs that promote the economic, physical, and social prosperity of the Marietta area. Proceeds from Marietta Day benefit beautification and economic and cultural development in Marietta.
