Manheim Township Library Plans Book Sale

Manheim Township Public Library will hold its 13th annual book sale on Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Thursday, Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sept. 16, items will be half-price.

The volunteer-run event will be located at the Overlook Activities Center, 301 Golf Drive, Lancaster, inside the roller skating rink. Hosted by the Friends of Manheim Township Public Library, the book sale is one of the library's major fundraiser events, with proceeds from the sale being used for library materials, programs and equipment.

The event was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so this year is expected to be the library's biggest book sale since the event's inception in 2008.

The event will feature over 50,000 books and media items in 30 categories. There will be a wide variety of books, DVDs, CDs, CD audiobooks and puzzles.

Separate fees have been set for hardcover books, paperback books, children's hardcover books, children's paperback books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles. Cash, check, and credit cards will be accepted as payment, with a minimum purchase amount for credit cards.

Book and media donations will not be accepted at the book sale, but rather at the Manheim Township Public Library on Tuesdays and Fridays between 9 and 11 a.m.

For more information about the sale or donating books during regular business hours, call the library at 717-560-6441. The Manheim Township Public Library is located on the Overlook Community Campus near the Fruitville Pike entrance at 595 Granite Run Drive.
