Manheim Central Honors Students

Christian Frick and Sophia Garman have been selected as the Seniors of the Month for December 2022 at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Christian, 18, is the son of Edward and Kerri Frick of Mount Joy. He involved in the Technology Student Association (TSA) and the National Honor Society (NHS). He has been awarded the Drawing and Design Award for outstanding command of Project Lead the Way Introduction to Engineering and Design and CAD Fundamentals in the 2021-22 school year and was runner-up in the Regional Conference for Web Design. Christian volunteers with NHS and the Salvation Army. He attended the Elizabethtown College Engineering Camp in the summer of 2021 and has volunteered as a soccer coach for the Manheim Soccer Club. He plans to attend the Pennsylvania College of Technology to pursue a bachelor's degree in architecture and sustainable design.

Sophia, 17, is the daughter of Brett and Jennifer Garman of Manheim. Sophia has been co-president of the Amnesty International club and the Inclusion and Diversity Club; treasurer of the Spanish Club; and vice president of Rho Kappa and the Thespian Honor Society. She is also a member of Science Olympiad, Speech and Debate Club, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Science Honor Society, and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. She has been named an AP Scholar with Distinction for the 2021-22 school year. Sophia has volunteered at LCBC Church as a sixth-grade group leader and a vocalist on the Student Ministry worship team. She plans to attend college to major in biochemistry and public health, with the goal of entering the field of research.
