Lynch, Rodemaker Recognized

Lower Dauphin High School seniors Sydnee Lynch and Ben Rodemaker were recently named Students of the Month for October by the Rotary Club of Hummelstown.

Sydnee is the daughter of Alicia and Dave Lynch. She is active in both school and community activities. She serves as student school board representative. She is a four-year member of the debate team and Student Council, currently serving as president of the former and vice president of the latter. She also serves as a committee captain for Mini-THON and is a leader in Class Council. Sydnee is a member of the varsity volleyball team, the National Science Honor Society and the National German Honor Society.

In the community, she volunteers at a mentor with Lower Dauphin Communities That Care in the Study Buddies program and as a mentor in Club Ophelia. She is also active in Girl Scouts, receiving her Girl Scout Gold Award and in Boy Scouts, pursuing her Eagle Scout Award.

She plans to attend the Wood Honors College at Shippensburg University and then join the Peace Corps after graduation.

Ben is the son of Dave Rodemaker. He is active in the band and drumline. In the community, he is involved in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout Award. He is also a counselor at Nawakwa church camp in Adams County.

After graduating high school, Ben plans to take a year off and travel to Europe.
