Luthercare To Offer Nursing Scholarships

To support students who are planning to pursue a career in the nursing industry, Luthercare is currently accepting applications from local high school seniors for its 2021 Nursing Scholarship Program.

Candidates must be in their senior year and planning to enter the nursing industry. Students from the following high schools are eligible: Manheim Township, Manheim Central, Columbia, Lebanon, ELCO, Cedar Crest, and Warwick. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded per school. Applicants are required to complete an application and write an essay of 750 words or fewer describing why they should receive the scholarship and why they are interested in the field of nursing. The application can be found on the "News" section of http://www.Luthercare.org. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher, coach, or other authority figure and one from a community member. Scholarship applications will be accepted through Thursday, April 15. All materials should be submitted to Blake Daub, Luthercare's senior vice president of human resources and administrative services, via email at bdaub@luthercare.org; applications may also be submitted by mail, with more details available by contacting Daub.

Last year, Luthercare awarded $1,000 scholarships to eight recipients who were passionate about the nursing field.
