Lower Dauphin plans dinner fundraiser, musical

The cast of Lower Dauphin High School's musical "Into the Woods" will host the annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser in the high school cafeteria from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

The meal will include all-you-can-eat spaghetti with a choice of meatless or meat sauce, as well as bread, fresh salad, various home-baked desserts and an assortment of hot and cold beverages. At several points throughout the evening, the cast members, who will serve as waiters, will stop what they are doing to perform songs from the show.

Tickets for the dinner are available from any cast member or at the door. There is a discount for children under age 10. Proceeds will help to cover the costs of producing the show, such as costumes, programs, and set construction.

Performances of "Into the Woods" will take place on Thursday, Feb. 29, through Saturday, March 2, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, March 3, at 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium. There is a reduced fee for students and senior citizens. All tickets can be purchased in advance at https://ldhs.seatyourself.biz. Tickets will also be available at the door and at the spaghetti dinner.

On Friday, March 1, the Lower Dauphin Falcon Foundation will host a dinner theater fundraiser with a one-plate buffet-style meal and a show ticket for a combined cost. There is a discount for students and seniors. To order these tickets, visit http://www.ldfalconfoundation.org.

In the show, storybook characters' paths intertwine as they chase their deepest desires through an enchanted forest. However, once they receive their happily ever after, the unintended consequences of granted wishes unravel their worlds. The show includes the songs "Giants in the Sky," "On the Steps of the Palace," "No One Is Alone," and "Children Will Listen."

The cast includes Amber Abela as the baker's wife, Hunter Meyers as the baker, Abigail Foran as Cinderella, Silas Howard as Cinderella's prince, Kaitlyn Hoffman as the witch, Nikolai Wagner as the narrator, Lauren King as Little Red Riding Hood, Wren White as Jack, Anne Nelson as Rapunzel, Mason Barrick as Rapunzel's prince and the wolf, Nathan Wolfe as Cinderella's stepmother, Jordan Braman as Florinda, Nikolai Wagner as the mysterious man, Aubrey Subbio as Lucinda, Caleb Gliot as the steward, Rachel Linnell as Jack's mother, Riley O'Brien as Cinderella's father, Nicole Estes as Cinderella's mother, Paige Miller as Granny, Beth Tylwalk as the giantess, Penny Altland as Snow White, Faith Fausnight as Sleeping Beauty, Maryn Lerch as Milky White, and featured dancers Faith Fausnight, Nicole Estes, Jordan Braman, Aubrey Subbio, Paige Miller and Phoenix Gontkovsky.
