Local vendor pop-up slated

A local vendor pop-up event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gather Home Boutique and Furniture, 29 Kendig Road, Conestoga, located behind the Conestoga Wagon Restaurant.

Parking will be at the Conestoga Historical Society, and golf cart shuttles will be available.

More than 20 local vendors will sell handcrafted items and other goods, including candles, jewelry, woodcarved bowls and boards, fresh florals, handcrafted baby items, baked goods, soaps, local honey, bee products, and boutique clothing.

Live music will be provided by Hutch, and there will be wood-fired pizza, chicken corn soup, and pork barbecue, along with wine slushies from Britain Hill Winery. Games and free crafts will be available for children.

Donations will be accepted for the Conestoga Food Bank, with attendees encouraged to donate boxes of macaroni and cheese, canned soup, spaghetti sauce, cereal, peanut butter, and jelly. For each item a person donates, he or she will receive an entry to win one of three prizes. Leah Landis with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and Joel Hertzog Custom Classics will match the donations.

New this year will be a chili cook-off contest. While there is no cost to enter, those who plan to compete are asked to preregister by emailing Katielynnhess@gmail.com or messaging the Gather Home Boutique and Furniture Facebook or Instagram pages. Voting tickets will be available for a set fee, and people may purchase as many tickets as they'd like. Proceeds will benefit the food bank. The top three winners will receive gift cards to Conestoga Wagon Restaurant, Tudbink's Greenhouses, Gather Home Boutique, and Lancaster Cast Iron.
