Local student-athlete Anthony "Ant" Rodriguez recently brought together young athletes and members of the Conestoga Valley football team for an Overcomer Performance Community Football Camp. The program, held July 22 at East Lampeter Township Community Park, welcomed children ages 8 to 12 and was completely free of charge.

Rodriguez, a rising senior and football player at Conestoga Valley High School, organized the camp to give younger athletes in the community an opportunity to learn the game in a positive and encouraging environment. Several of his Conestoga Valley football teammates volunteered alongside him, helping lead campers through drills and activities.

Overcomer Performance was created around the idea of pushing through challenges, working hard, and using one's experiences to become stronger. The camp was one way Rodriguez brought that mindset into his community, creating an opportunity for younger athletes to learn, have fun, and be encouraged by players they look up to. The camp gave local high school athletes an opportunity to use the game they love to encourage and serve the next generation.

Hopewell Legacy Group sponsored the event and provided T-shirts for the campers. The event was captured by local photographer Tre Forney.
