Local Retirement Community Receives Honor

Country Meadows Retirement Communities has been certified as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute.

The Great Place to Work certification process considered surveys completed by all co-workers at Country Meadows' 10 campuses and evaluated more than 60 elements of co-workers' experiences on the job. These included employee pride in the organization's community impact, belief that their work makes a difference and feeling their work has special meaning. Rankings are based on co-workers' experiences, no matter who they are or what they do.

Using this feedback, the Great Place to Work Trust Index Survey assesses organizations on five principles - credibility, fairness, respect, camaraderie and pride - that define the overall concept of what an employee views as a great workplace.

The president and CEO of Country Meadows is Michael Leader. Leader's parents, former Pennsylvania Gov. George Leader and his wife, Mary Jane, founded Country Meadows Retirement Communities. The Leader family has been in the profession of senior living since 1962, and its main emphasis has always been to provide high-quality services at reasonable costs through a well-trained and highly motivated team of professionals.

Today, Country Meadows has grown to nine locations in Pennsylvania and one campus in Frederick, Md., employing nearly 2,000 co-workers who serve more than 2,000 residents. Locally, Country Meadows Retirement Communities has locations in Hershey, Mechanicsburg and York. More information is available at http://www.countrymeadows.com.
