Local CAP squadron attends cadet conference

Cadets from Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304 attended the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Combined Pennsylvania Wing-New York Wing Cadet Conference on Sept. 9.

Cadets from across Pennsylvania and New York gathered at the Pennsylvania College of Technology for the event, which featured multiple cadet-focused and cadet-led sessions. Cadet training topics included leadership, color guard, aerospace, emergency services, aviation mechanics and medic skills. All of these skills are needed to carry out the missions assigned to CAP by the U.S. Air Force.

Cadets were joined by members of the senior leadership, including group and wing commanders from Pennsylvania and New York, and the Northeast region deputy commander. The event was the first cadet conference held since the pandemic caused the postponement of the annual conference for three years.

Jesse Jones Squadron 304 meets each Monday except holidays at 7 p.m. in the Venture Jets hangar, which is located at the Lancaster Airport near the intersection of Lititz Pike and Millport Road. Visitors are welcome
