Local author publishes children's book

Local author Jacqueline Christine has announced the released of her children's picture book, "Mommy's Day Off." The book celebrates family bonding and representation in children's literature.

For Christine, a mother of five, children's books have always been more than stories; they have been a means of connecting with her children and creating cherished memories. However, she believed there was a lack of diversity in the books available, particularly in the portrayal of Hispanic children and families, as well as the absence of male protagonists.

"Mommy's Day Off" centers around Louie, a young boy who spends a special day with his father while his mother assists a friend. Throughout their adventures, Louie experiences the joy of indulging in activities his mother would not typically allow, such as enjoying ice cream and waffles for breakfast. Ultimately, Louie comes to appreciate the role his mother plays in his life.

"Mommy's Day Off" is printed locally and is available for purchase exclusively at http://www.jacquelinechristine.com. For more information about the book and author, visit the aforementioned website.
