Lititz Library Posts Schedule

Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, will offer a variety of activities for patrons of all ages in December. For more details and registration, call 717-626-2255 or visit http://www.lititzlibrary.org.

The library will be closed on Wednesdays, Dec. 24 and 31, and Thursdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Holiday Happenings will take place on Saturdays, Dec. 6 and 13. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present from 10 a.m. to noon, and Santa will read a story at 11 a.m. Holiday crafts will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A model train display will be available to view on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 8, through Thursday, Dec. 11, from 3 to 7 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 12, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.; and Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Mitten Tree Donation Drive will be held from Monday, Dec. 1, to Dec. 13. People may donate new hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and socks, and all donations will be given to local communities in need.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. These activities include Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m.; Baked Books Club on Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.; Beginner Tai Chi Easy on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m.; Lititz Game Club, for players age 10 and older, on Wednesdays, Dec. 3 and 17, at 4:30 p.m.; Painting Club on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 12:30 p.m.; Lego Club, for children ages 6 to 10, on Saturday, Dec. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m.; Lititz Garden Club on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.; Writing Club on Monday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m.; Accessible Yoga with Black Cat Yoga on Friday, Dec. 26, at 10 a.m.; and BYOB Book Club, for which attendees may bring whatever they are currently reading, on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m.

The following programs will be offered for children: Paws to Read, where children can read aloud to a therapy dog, on Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 27, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and Cruise Into Kindergarten, for children ages 3 to 6, on Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The library will offer three-week parachute classes for children from Dec. 1 to 18. Parachute Play, for children ages 3 to 5 who may attend independent of a caregiver, will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays. Little Parachute, for children ages 1 and 2 with a caregiver, will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Registration is required.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to create blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesdays, Dec. 2 and 16, at 2 p.m.

The library's Hygge Cozy Cafe will be open on Dec. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. Guests may enjoy some games, quiet reading, simple crafts, adult coloring, and tea, and a dog will be available for people to read to or pet. Registration will open on Dec. 3.

Digital Detox with Old-School Writing Tools will take place on Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. After a brief presentation, participants will have the opportunity to get hands-on with a manual typewriter and a variety of fountain pens. Registration will open on Dec. 4.

The Holiday StoryWalk featured book is "Snowmen at Christmas" by Caralyn Buehner. The StoryWalk begins to the right of the library entrance and moves counterclockwise around the library.

Gift-a-Book will take place from Nov. 17 to Dec. 13. People may purchase a book for the library and have the opportunity to put a holiday bookplate in it.

Santa's Mailbox will be open from Dec. 1 to Tuesday, Dec. 23. People may place a letter in Santa's Mailbox and receive a reply.
