The East Hanover Lions Club met on Jan. 24 at Perkins Restaurant for its business meeting. The club honored John Appleton IV, a fifth-grade student at East Hanover Elementary School in Lebanon County, for his service and accomplishments this past marking period. He was given a certificate and monetary award.

Ron Johnson, coordinator of emergency management for East Hanover Township in Dauphin County, gave a presentation. Topics included emergencies in the area, how emergencies are managed and resources for the community.

The East Hanover Lions' other recent activities include attending a puzzle night at East Hanover Community Building in Grantville on Jan. 21. Teams were given puzzles to complete.
