The W Donuts food truck will be at the library on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library from Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The library's board will meet on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m.

The library will hold Reading With Sasha, a program that offers kids the opportunity to read to a therapy dog from Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services (KPETS). Fifteen-minute sessions are available every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Programs for children and families will include Wiggle & Giggle Story Time, Mondays, Oct. 12 and 26, at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. for children ages 6 months through 2 years; Preschool Pals on Tuesdays, Oct. 13 and 27, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 6; and Family Story Times on Wednesdays, Oct. 7, 14, 21, and 28, at 10:30 a.m. and on Thursdays, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, at 10:30 a.m.

Fire Department Mount Joy will share information about fire safety and prevention on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m.

The Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a program about critters that are often misunderstood, like opossums, skunks, raccoons, and more. It will be held on Monday, Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m.

History Alive will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 2:30 p.m. for kids age 6 and up. This month's theme is "The Lost Colony of Roanoke."

Pumpkin Pandemonium will be available on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. for people of all ages. Attendees may bring a pumpkin to the library and decorate it with provided materials.

Reading the World will be offered for children age 6 and up on select Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. The program will include stories or folklore and a craft, all related to Bangkok, Thailand, on Oct. 8 and Barcelona, Spain, on Oct. 22.

Pajama Party - Not-So-Spooky Night, for families, will be held on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. The celebration will feature a monster dance party, crafts, stories, and more. Attendees may wear costumes.

An immersive Clue game, for people of all ages, will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. Teams will work together to find hidden cards around the library and solve a mystery. Books will be awarded as prizes.

Once Upon a Magical Story Time, for kids of all ages, is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. Attendees will hear stories, create toy magic wands, and more. Attendees may wear costumes.

Little Tinker Thinkers, for kids age 6 and up, will be held on Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. Children will learn about chemical reactions.

A Family Lego Challenge will be offered on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. Each family will be given a box full of Legos and asked to create something based on a provided theme.

The library will host Parachute Play on Monday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 5 with a caregiver.

Teen Art will be held on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. The library will provide all the materials needed to make an egg carton ghost portrait.

Curious Minds Story Time will offer stories, songs, and a craft led by members of the Janus School. This month's theme is "Spiders." The program will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10:30 a.m.

Plot Twist, a hands-on adventure through language arts, will be presented on Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m. for kids age 6 and up. This month's theme is "Spooky Stories."

Messy Science Night, for children age 6 and up, will be held on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m.

Teen Cold Case will offer people ages 12 to 19 the opportunity to examine evidence, solve puzzles, decipher hidden messages, and solve a mystery. The program is slated for Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.

Kids age 6 and up may attend Art Explorers on Oct. 27 at 2:30 p.m. to learn about Edvard Munch.

The library will offer a jumbo Candy Land game Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. Kids will become part of the game as they travel through colorful candy-themed locations, tackle challenges, and work together to make their way to the Candy Castle.

Activities for adults will include Closely Knit, a program for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Oct. 12 and 26, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Adult Game Night, Oct. 7 and 21 at 5 p.m.; Adult Book Bingo, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, Saturday, Oct. 17, at 9:15 a.m.; and Book Discussion Group - Lit Lovers, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m., with the topic of "Ordinary Grace" by William Kent Krueger.

The Friends of the Library will meet on Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
