Library posts July activities

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programming. All programs are free, unless stated otherwise, and require preregistration. For more information and to register, visit http://www.mslibrary.org or call 717-653-1510.

The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4.

Summer Food Truck Thursdays and bonus days will continue through Thursday, Aug. 22. For details, visit the aforementioned website or search for the library on social media.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Programs for children and teens include Lunch Bunch for children age 8 and up every Tuesday at noon; Lego Challenge on Tuesday, July 9, at 6 p.m.; So You Want to be a ... on Thursdays, July 11, 18, and 25, at 10:30 a.m.; Fun Fort Friday for families on July 12 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Teen Chill & Draw with Hanna on Saturday, July 13, at 1 p.m.; Adventures with Baby on Monday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 6 months to 2 years; Fun Family Book Bingo on Tuesday, July 16, at 6 p.m.; and Family Story Time on Wednesdays, July 17, 24, and 31, at 10:30 a.m.

The library will host a Bubble Party on Saturday, July 6, at 10 a.m.

The Lancaster Science Factory will present a robotics program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade on July 9 at 10:30 a.m.

Teen Zine Tuesdays, a virtual program, will be available for youths ages 12 to 19 this summer. Authors will offer creative prompts and a real-time look at their writing process via Zoom. Written works by the youths and guest authors will be compiled in a SummerZine. In July, participants may work with Gene Beretta from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, July 9 or 23.

Phredd the Ukulele One Man Band will perform outdoors, weather permitting, on Wednesday, July 10, at 10:30 a.m.

Get Aligned with Dr. Abby will offer an opportunity for families to learn about chiropractic care on July 13 at 10 a.m.

History Mystery, for kids age 7 and up, will be held on July 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Erick Hershey the Country Conjurer will perform on July 16 at 1:30 p.m. Hershey will present illusions that show how reading can take people on adventures in their imagination.

The library will host Art in the Park on Thursday, July 18, at 1:30 p.m. for kids age 7 and up.

Marietta Family Story Time will be held on Friday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m. inside the old First National Bank, 100 W. Market St., Marietta.

911 - What's Your Emergency? will be presented on Saturday, July 20, at 10 a.m. Attendees will learn what it is like working at a 911 call center and what to do in an emergency.

Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department will share information on outdoor survival on July 23 at 10:30 a.m. This program is for people age 7 and up.

Jen Angeles, owner of 2Fab Fitness Studio, will lead Family Fun Dance Fitness on Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m.

Teen D&D will take place on July 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. Interested teens may contact Jan Betty at jbetty@mslibrary.org.

The juggler and clown duo Cissy and The Man will present Circus in a Box on Wednesday, July 31, at 1:30 p.m.

Activities for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesdays, July 3 and 17, at 5 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, July 8 and 22, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on July 17 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; Adult Book Bingo on July 17 at 2 p.m.; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on July 20 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Make-It Monday - Lit Bottle Art, for people age 14 and up, on July 22 at 6 p.m.; and Lit Lovers Book Discussion Group on July 23 at 6:30 p.m.
