Library Plans Activities

Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, has posted its upcoming programs. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free and require registration by visiting http://www.mslibrary.org or calling 717-653-1510.

Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Food Truck Thursdays will continue through October from 4 to 7 p.m. The schedule is listed on the library's website calendar.

The Youth Fall Reading Program will continue until Saturday, Nov. 26. Readers may pick up forms at the library's front desk.

Child, youth, and family activities will include story time for families at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays in October; Adventures with Baby on Monday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m. Homeschool Art Class on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday, Oct. 13, at 1:30 p.m. for people age 7 and up; a Lego Challenge for families on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.; Fun Fort Friday for families on Oct. 14 from 5 to 6 p.m.; Homeschool STEM on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday, Oct. 20, at 1:30 p.m. for people age 7 and up; Fun Family Bingo for people age 7 and up on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.; and Homeschool History Mystery on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday, Oct. 27, at 1:30 p.m. for people age 7 and up.

A Read for the Record Story Time will take place on Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m. Jumpstart's Read for the Record is a global moment to raise awareness around the importance of early literacy and to increase access to high-quality children's books. People across the country will read the same book on this day.

Programs for adults will include Adult Game Night on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m.; Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Oct. 10 and 24, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; a meeting of the Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m.; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Make-It Monday - "Pumpkin Pandemonium" on Monday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m.; adults-only bingo on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m.; Easy Writer Club, for writers of all levels, on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m., with no registration required; and Lit Lovers Book Club discussing "The Heart of Everything That Is: The Untold Story of Red Cloud, An American Legend" by Bob Drury and Tom Clavin on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m.

Adam Zurn from Uncharted Lancaster will present Ghost Stories and Tales of the Unknown in Lancaster County on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
