Library plans activities

The library will offer several ongoing programs. Tai Chi Easy will be available on Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 6:30 p.m. Lititz Game Club for players age 10 and older will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Aug. 2 and 16. The Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County will meet on Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. The Knitting Club will meet on Mondays, Aug. 7 and 21, at 10 a.m.; there will be no meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 29. The Painting Club will meet on Wednesdays, Aug. 9 and 23, at 12:30 p.m. The Great Decisions Discussion Group will gather on Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. Morning Yoga will take place at 9 a.m. on Fridays, Aug. 11, 18, and 25.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to make blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesdays, Aug. 1 and 15, at 2 p.m.

Lititz Game Club will meet on Aug. 2 and 16 at 4:30 p.m.

The Jane Austen Society will meet on Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

A belly dance class will be offered on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. The class is for people of all abilities age 18 to seniors.

The jazz group Temple Avenue will present an outdoor concert on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Temple Avenue was formed by Lancaster musicians and their friends at Temple University. Attendees should bring a blanket or chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place indoors. Online registration is required and will begin Aug. 3.

Lititz Art Association will meet on Aug. 29.

The library will offer programs for children and families, and registration will be available two weeks prior to the event.

Fall Backyard Story Times will take place outdoors at the library on Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. from Wednesday, Sept. 6, to Thursday, Oct. 26. The program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Online registration is required weekly.

During the Paws to Read program on Aug. 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., children can read stories to trained therapy dogs.

Don't Hate Me ... I'm Just a Bug with Ryan the Bug Man will be offered on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 1:30 p.m. The program, which is appropriate for children of all ages, will include an opportunity to hold bugs.

Children's author Martha Jaworowski will visit the library on Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. Geared for young children, the program will include a reading of Jaworowski's "Trucks at First Sight" and opportunities to play with trucks.

Kids' Yoga, for children ages 6 to 9, will take place on Aug. 18 at 10:30 a.m.

Children age 8 and up may join in Flag Folding Fun on Monday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. Attendees will learn flag etiquette and the proper way to fold a flag. This program is presented by the Lititz VFW.

Wacky Wednesday will be held on Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. and will include a story and hands-on stations.

Children who stop by the library's stand at the Lititz Farmers Market may hear a story and make a craft. The activity will be available on Thursday, Aug. 31, every half hour beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The library's Summer StoryWalk is "The Big Umbrella" by Amy June Bates. The StoryWalk begins to the right of the library entrance and moves counterclockwise around the library.
