Alan Lapratt, a member of the New York Army National Guard, was recently promoted in recognition of capability for additional responsibility and leadership. Lapratt is from Hellam.

Lapratt, who is assigned to the Medical Readiness Detachment, was promoted on Aug. 7 to the rank of lieutenant colonel. Army National Guard promotions are based on a soldier's overall performance, demonstrated leadership abilities, professionalism and future development potential.
