Lapp Wins Art Competition

Olivia Lapp, a senior at Garden Spot High School, was named the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Pennsylvania's 11th Congressional District. Rep. Lloyd Smucker announced the award.

Lapp's entry, "Exhausted Observation," will represent Pennsylvania's 11th Congressional District in the 44th annual Congressional Art Exhibition. The artwork will be displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. The Cannon Tunnel is the most heavily traveled access point between the office buildings of the House of Representatives and the United States Capitol. Every day, members of Congress, distinguished visitors, and tens of thousands of tourists walk through the tunnel and admire the award-winning artworks from students in all congressional districts across the nation. Since the Congressional Art Competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
