Story times will be held on Thursdays, July 11, 18, and 25, at 10 a.m. The programs are designed for children ages 2 to 6, and older and younger siblings or friends are welcome to attend. Each session will feature a story related to a historical topic and a craft or activity inspired by the book. The books will be "Gingerbread for Liberty" by Mara Rockliff on July 11, "Freedom Summer" by Deborah Wiles on July 18, and "The Watermelon Seed" by Greg Pizzoli on July 25. The story times will take place outdoors; in the case of rain, the program will be moved indoors. The program is free, but registration is required. At least one person age 18 or older should attend for every household.

Music on the Lawn will be presented on Saturday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. The performance will feature Featherburn, which weaves together folk, punk, groove, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, foldable chairs, and picnics. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Restrooms will be available on-site.

There is a fee for tickets, and tickets are free for children age 17 and under and for LancasterHistory members. Tickets may be purchased in advance, or they may be obtained at the event with cash or a credit card; cash is preferred. In the event of inclement weather, the decision of whether to postpone will be made at noon on July 20, and ticketholders will be notified. If a change is made, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 21, from 1 to 3 p.m.

In July, LancasterHistory will be open on Mondays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tours of Wheatland will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Research Center will be open by appointment on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
