Ladies' tea benefits food pantry

Members of Wesley United Methodist Church in Strasburg hosted a ladies' tea party on April 30. As part of the celebration, attendees were asked to bring items for the food pantry at First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Decatur St., Strasburg.

More than 90 ladies brought a variety of nonperishable food, hygiene items and cleaning products to the tea for donation to the pantry. In addition to the donated items, a check for $850 was presented to Donna Stettler, food pantry chair, by Wanda Albright and Kay Graybill, tea co-chairs.

The food pantry is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. The pantry has been in operation since 2012, and it has grown over the years, distributing more than 1,000 bags of groceries last year. The food pantry offers a variety of shelf-stable provisions, along with milk, eggs and butter. For more information or to donate items or money to the pantry, contact the church office at 717-687-6030.
