Kiwanis Club donates to children's charities

The Kiwanis Club of Lititz Area recently presented two checks totaling $50,000 to local children's charities. A $25,000 check was presented to James DeBord, president of Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, and another $25,000 check was presented to Dr. Liz Prada, executive director of the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic. The funds represent the proceeds of the club's Chocolate Walk.

According to Jeff Bierbower, Kiwanis president, the club has fewer than 25 members but was still able to donate more than $100,000 to charities this year. In the club's 28-year history, it has donated more than $1 million to children's charities like Schreiber and the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic.

The Kiwanis Club of Lititz Area is part of Kiwanis International, a worldwide service organization, whose mission is "serving the children of the world, one child, one community at a time." New members are welcome. For more information, contact the club's hotline at 717-560-2295 or email kiwanisclublititz@gmail.com.
