Kirchner, Sensenig Recognized

Chase Kirchner and Lydia Sensenig have been selected as March's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School. The Girls of the Month are sponsored by the Manheim Women's Club, and the Boys of the Month are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Manheim. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Chase, age 18, is the son of Chad and Kim Kirchner of Manheim. Over the past four years, Chase has been a member of the rifle team, the swim team, and FFA. In October, he competed in ag mechanics at the National FFA Convention, where participants were evaluated through written exams, practical assessments, and a team project. Chase earned an individual Gold rating, and his four-member team achieved a Bronze rating.

Outside of school, Chase is involved in the youth group at Calvary Church, and he assists with sound and lighting during worship services. He competes in trapshooting with the Manheim and Palmyra teams. Following graduation, Chase plans to continue growing the lawn care business that he and his twin brother, Avery, started when they were 14.

Lydia, age 18, is the daughter of Andrew and Krista Sensenig of Manheim. Lydia is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Spanish Club, and she earned two Silver Awards on the National Spanish Exam. She serves as treasurer of the Thespian Honor Society and vice president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and she is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Lydia is also active in marching band, choir, and Baron Stage. She was selected for the county and district choirs.

Beyond school, Lydia attends Community Bible Church and participates in the youth group at Manheim Brethren in Christ, where she also leads worship and volunteers at FCA Power Camp. She has performed in junior productions with Servant Stage and volunteers with Brittany's Hope Star Barn and Reist Popcorn through the Interact Club. After graduation, she plans to attend college to study music, worship, and Spanish.
