Igloo Insurance Introduces Binder the Bear as Company Mascot

Igloo Insurance introduced its new mascot, Binder the Bear, at the annual Frosty 5K in Middletown on Dec. 6. Binder cheered on the participants and offered photo opportunities alongside Frosty the Snowman.

The person behind the costume was a freshman wrestler from Middletown Area High School, who showed community spirit while energizing racers and posing for pictures.

The name Binder was chosen because in the insurance world, a binder is a temporary contract that provides proof of coverage until the actual policy is issued. It is a way to give clients peace of mind knowing they are protected while the paperwork is finalized.

The Frosty 5K began in Hoffer Park and then traveled through the east side of Middletown Borough. Proceeds from the event supported the Middletown Area Historical Society and its mission to "collect, preserve and teach" the history of Middletown and Dauphin County.
