Horst Excavating Celebrates 60 Years

Horst Excavating, founded by brothers Abram Horst Jr. and Clyde Horst, is celebrating 60 years in business this year. From its beginnings in 1961 as a small site work company originally called A&C Equipment, Horst Excavating has grown to become an award-winning site work contractor whose work spans the Mid-Atlantic region.

Horst Excavating now employs more than 70 team members, many of whom have been with the company for at least a decade and a few of whom have been Horst team members for over a quarter century.

Whether working as a prime contractor directly for a client or in conjunction with a general contractor as a subcontractor, Horst has performed the site work on several significant projects in the area over the past 50 years. These include the Barnestormers' stadium, the Lancaster County Convention Center and the waste-to-energy facility in York known as the York County Resource Recovery Center.

Headquartered in Lancaster, Horst Excavating is part of a family of companies that make up the Horst Group, a privately owned, diversified corporation specializing in construction services, management services and insurance. Learn more about Horst Excavating at http://www.HorstExcavating.com.
