Horn Farm slates plant sale

The Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education, 4945 Horn Road, York, will host its 13th annual plant sale on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will offer a wide variety of organically grown plants and will directly support the Horn Farm Center's educational programming.

Shoppers will find hundreds of varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers, alongside locally sourced native shrubs, trees, and pollinator-friendly plants.

This year, two varieties of zinnia flowers - Zahara Fire and Yellow Flame - will be featured to raise awareness for the Horn Farm Center's rebuilding efforts. Proceeds from these plants will support Horn Farm Center's ongoing work to build a new education center, revitalizing the historic farmhouse that was destroyed by fire in 2021.

The plant sale is a collaborative effort led by Horn Farm staff members, interns, and on-farm partner Kilgore Family Farm. All plants are grown on-site using organic practices. The event will also feature guest vendors offering local art, refreshments, and more.

No tickets or reservations are required. For a complete list of available plants and further details, visit http://www.hornfarmcenter.org/plant-sale.

The Horn Farm Center is seeking volunteers to assist with parking, plant sales, and cleanup. Volunteers are welcome to shop and enjoy the event before or after their shifts. Community members may visit the aforementioned website to sign up.

The event's sponsors are Bellomo & Associates, Richards Energy Group Inc., and Sides Wealth Advisory Group.

Horn Farm Center's mission is to foster ecological learning through land stewardship, community partnerships, and hands-on experiences.
