The Strasburg Heritage Society's 14th annual Holiday Home Tour will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festive event will be held regardless of the weather.

The Holiday Home Tour will shine the spotlight on seven festively decorated homes, most of which have never been on the tour before. Six of the homes are located in close proximity within the historic district, making this a very walkable tour.

The Event Center will be located at First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Decatur St., Strasburg. At the Event Center, visitors may purchase tour tickets, lunch, items from craft vendors, and fresh holiday greens. Tour tickets may be purchased at full price on the day of the tour, but they can be obtained prior to the tour up until Friday, Dec. 5, at a discount. Tickets may be purchased in person in advance at Main Street Antiques, 2 W. Main St., Strasburg, and Speckled Hen Coffee, 141 E. Main St., Strasburg. They can also be purchased online at http://www.eventbrite.com by searching for "Strasburg Holiday Home Tour" or at http://www.strasburgheritagesociety.org under the Events tab.

The Holiday Home Tour will once again be preceded by Strasburg Borough's Community Tree Lighting event, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The tree lighting is sponsored by Strasburg Borough, the Lampeter-Strasburg Area Woman's Club, and the Strasburg Heritage Society.

According to event organizers, the Holiday Home Tour is a great day when local folks as well as out-of-towners stroll the streets and enjoy the town as well as the homes.

The Holiday Home Tour is the Strasburg Heritage Society's major fundraiser of the year. Its proceeds help fund the organization's mission of educating local residents about their area's past, helping them to appreciate their heritage, and preserving and restoring the artifacts entrusted to the Strasburg Heritage Society.
