Historical society sets program

The Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley will present a program, "Vehicle for Growth: The History of the Reading and Columbia Railroad," on Wednesday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 167 E. Main St., Ephrata.

G. Douglas Gehr from the Historic Ephrata Cloister will discuss 120 years of railroad operations that sparked growth and change in the Cocalico Valley. Gehr will provide information on the Reading and Columbia Railroad, with a focus on some of its 24 stations.
