The Millersville Area Historical Society will offer a presentation at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, in the Millersville Borough Administration and Police Building, 100 Municipal Drive. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and lock at 9:15 a.m.

Stephen J. Shaw, a retired U.S. Army command sergeant major, will speak on the Lancaster County Veterans Court.

The Lancaster County Veterans Court is a treatment organization based on proven national research that provides veterans an opportunity to pursue appropriate therapies, while productively addressing associated legal problems. Shaw, who has been an active mentor with the court for the past 12 years, will offer an overview of the court and its mission. The program will conclude with a question-and-answer period.

Shaw, who is also a retired middle school science teacher, has published numerous military history articles for magazines and is author of the book "German & Spanish Military Rings." A world traveler, the Millersville University graduate most recently spent time in Tanzania, where he participated in a wildlife safari.
