Historical Society Plans Events

The East Petersburg Historical Society has posted several events.

A walking tour of East Petersburg will be held on Monday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m., starting at the Daniel Wolf House Museum, 1905 State St. There is a requested donation. To register, visit http://www.eastpetehistory.org or email info@eastpetehistory.org.

The 71st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment California will host a Civil War encampment on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Daniel Wolf House Museum.

The re-enactors will be dressed in full period attire, including uniforms, showcasing a traditional camp layout during the Civil War. The event will include musket firing demonstrations.

A program, "Hauntings of East Petersburg and Lancaster County," will take place on Monday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. at the East Petersburg Community Center building at East Petersburg Community Park, 6051 Pine St. Corey Aspril will lead the program, which will include time for attendees to share their anecdotes of hauntings. The annual Christmas open house will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Daniel Wolf House Museum. The event will feature refreshments, Christmas music, and decorations, including a model train display of East Petersburg's original street layout.

In addition, the museum at the Daniel Wolf House is open to the public on the first Saturday of every month throughout the year. The hours of operation are 9 a.m. to noon.
