Highland Presbyterian Church To Host Author Talk

Diana Butler Bass, award-winning author, speaker and commentator on religion and contemporary spirituality, will speak at Highland Presbyterian Church (HPC), 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, as part of the church's Carson Lecture series on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 and 19.

Butler Bass is the author of 11 books, winning awards for her writing, speaking and media commentaries, including from The New York Times, CBS, PBS, Time magazine and "Spirituality & Health Magazine."

As the keynote speaker of the 2025 Carson Lecture at HPC, Butler Bass will present three different talks: one on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m., and another on Oct. 19 at the 10 a.m. service. There will be a luncheon at 11:30 a.m., and the third presentation will be at 12:30 p.m.

The Carson Lecture Series was initiated by a bequest from Ruth Carson for the purpose of encouraging the spiritual growth of the congregation. HPC members Sally Marrs (deceased) and Sara Royer are descendants of Ruth Carson.
