Hershey Public Library Posts Activities

The Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Ave., Hershey, has announced upcoming events.

The Friends of Hershey Public Library will host a Distinguished Author Visit on Saturday, April 2, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the library. Fiona Davis will speak on her new book, "The Magnolia Palace," as well as "The Lions of Fifth Avenue," which was a Good Morning America book club pick. Davis is the author of six historical fiction novels set in iconic New York City buildings. Her novels have been chosen as One Book, One Community reads, and her articles have appeared in publications like The Wall Street Journal and O, The Oprah Magazine. The Distinguished Author Event will conclude with a book signing, depending on pandemic protocols. Copies of "The Magnolia Palace" and "The Lions of Fifth Avenue" will be available for purchase. "When There Were Witches: An Exploration of the Salem Witch Trials" will be presented by archivist and historian Mickey DiCamillo on Saturday, April 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. DiCamillo will unravel the events of 1692 with help from archival documents from the period. Registration is requested at http://www.hersheylibrary.org for a link to Zoom for this virtual adult program.

KJO's Two Beat Dames will present an in-person program for children on Saturday, April 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. Attendees will hear music, learn about the instruments that make up a Dixieland jazz band, and maybe learn a dance step or two. Registration is not required.
