Hershey Library Events Planned

Hershey Public Library will offer a lineup of classes and programs for adults and children. Readers may visit the library's Event Calendar at http://www.hersheylibrary.org for registration and information or call the library at 717-533-6555.

Music with Hershey native Ryan Yingst will take place on Saturday, April 10. The songwriter, performer, and producer will present a virtual Friends program featuring some of his favorite songs from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The program is open to anyone age 14 and older.

On Sunday, April 11, from 2 to 3 p.m. Alan Hlad will talk about his book, "The Long Flight Home," on Zoom for this Friends Adult Program. Hlad is a corporate executive turned writer, and "The Long Flight Home" is his first novel.

Discovering Your Immigrant Ancestor with Sarah Gutmann will be offered virtually on Monday, April 12, from 7 to 8 p.m. Participants age 14 and older will learn how to find and examine ship passenger lists, naturalization records, and other documents.

Mirrors, Windows, and Sliding Glass Doors Family Book Group will discuss "Mommy's Khimar" on Saturday, April 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. Using a grant from Beanstack, the Hershey Public Library offers an opportunity for families to read and discuss books written by BIPOC authors and illustrators. Books will be provided through the grant for families to keep. Library staff will lead the discussions.

A State Trivia Family Program will be offered from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 18. The game will focus on trivia about the 50 states.

"History of Blues in America: Kids Edition" will be presented by Joey Leone. The children's Zoom program will be held on Saturday, April 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. the program is suitable for children age 6 and older. A question-and-answer session will conclude the program.
