Harlem Wizards play at CVHS

The Conestoga Valley School District (CVSD) hosted the Harlem Wizards on Feb. 10 at an event aimed to raise money for the Conestoga Valley Buckskin Activities Alliance (BAA).

The game was played in Rill Gymnasium at Conestoga Valley High School (CVHS) in front of 1,056 people, almost 300 more people than attended the previous Harlem Wizards game in 2017. Not only did the game draw record attendance, but the BAA also raised $13,619 in profit from the turnout. CV's team - consisting of staff and faculty members - took on the Wizards' King Arthur unit.

The BAA is a collective of CVSD coaches, administrators, board members, and Booster Club representatives. The organization was created to represent each school's authorized extracurricular activities and assist with its financial needs when standard budgets do not fulfill their yearly needs. The BAA aids organizations that include the marching band, athletics, cheerleading programs, and the performing arts. In the past year, the BAA was able to provide funding for new drum sets and carts, stage sound system amplifiers, mats, and batting cages for the CVHS softball and baseball teams.
