Habitat for Humanity Posts Anniversary Event

Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity is holding "40 for 40" - a 40th anniversary volunteer and fundraising drive - during National Volunteer Week, which began on April 19 and will continue through Saturday, April 25. The event is taking place at the new five-home Linden Street Build, located at 440 N. Fourth St., Columbia, and at the Lancaster Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 1061 Manheim Pike.

The "40 for 40" event is designed to showcase and celebrate the 40-year impact of volunteers and donors to Habitat's mission to build affordable homes in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Teams of volunteers will collectively contribute 40 volunteer hours in honor of Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity's 40th anniversary at one of the two sites. Volunteers will work alongside future Habitat homeowners during the event, and nearly 100 volunteers have already committed to donating their time. Habitat is also encouraging supporters to make donations in increments of $40.

The five Habitat homes at the Linden Street Build have already been matched with their future homeowners. The homes are included in Open Doors, Habitat's five-year, $4 million building campaign to build 30 affordable homes in Lancaster and Lebanon counties.

Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity serves families in need of safe, affordable housing across Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Since it began, the organization has helped more than 300 families. For more information, visit http://www.lancasterlebanonhabitat.org.
