Gypsy Kitchen Now Open In Columbia

Ed and Ellen Diller recently announced that their restaurant, the Gypsy Kitchen, has moved to permanent quarters. After many years of sharing or renting kitchen space in other places, the Gypsy Kitchen has opened at the Columbia Market House, 15 S. Third St., Columbia.

The Gypsy Kitchen is open on Wednesdays through Sundays from 5 to 8 p.m., and takeout is available during market hours. The sit-down eating experience offers all the benefits of a tasting menu, but with more food. Customers may have a soup or salad, as well as any entree, such as chicken, pork or shrimp and scallops. Some vegetarian/vegan options are also provided.

With a menu that changes weekly, the restaurant offers many opportunities to sample all kinds of food, which is always made with fresh ingredients and never with frozen or canned items. "If you finish anything, we bring more," said Ed, "and, of course, you can take leftovers home."

Takeouts are also available, and curbside pickup is offered on Fridays. Reservations are strongly recommended for eat-in times.
