Grocery Outlet to fundraise for local food banks

Each year during the month of July, Grocery Outlet stores nationwide, take part in an Independence from Hunger (IFH) food drive to benefit food banks in local communities.

Locally, over the past seven years, Bill and Amy Clisham, owners of the New Holland Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, have raised more than $85,000 for CrossNet Ministries and Northeastern Lancaster County Food Bank in Terre Hill.

The funds were raised directly from customers at checkout. Grocery Outlet customers who donate a set minimum amount are offered a coupon for use on a future purchase.

Last year, local businesses were also offered the opportunity to participate in a Match Day sponsorship. Business sponsorships helped to make a positive impact with customers as the New Holland Grocery Outlet raised a record $20,220 for local food banks.

On average, the store raises approximately $400 a day during its annual IFH Campaign. This year, the event will run from Wednesday, June 26, through Wednesday, July 31.
